The Merced depot is an important gateway to nearby Mariposa and El Portal, and a major transfer point for YARTS—the Yosemite Area Regional Transit System, which connects riders to Yosemite National Park, world famous for its giant sequoias, breathtaking waterfalls, lush meadows and historic hotels. All riders who purchase train tickets to the Park book their YARTS ticket at the time of purchase and receive FREE entrance into the Park.
