Annual Father's Day Car Show

Willow Park Mercantile, 205 G Street, Antioch, CA 94509 | Sunday June 19th | 9:00-1:00 PM

This is a family friendly event that features many cool cars and trucks, music, and delicious food from local restaurants. There will be raffles, a father/child look-alike contest, and a cake walk, courtesy of Rivertown Sweets! All proceeds raised will benefit the Celebrate Antioch Foundation. Entry and parking are free. Directions: From Amtrak San Joaquins Antioch Station, turn left on W 2nd St., then once you turn right on G St., you will arrive at the destination.

Father's Day Run/Walk 2022

Woodward Park | 7775 N Friant Rd. Fresno, CA | June 19, 2022 | 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM 

Celebrate ALL the Dads at the Woodward Park 56th Annual Father's Day Run/Walk. There is no better way to celebrate Father's Day than with an electrifying 10k run and 2 mile run/walk! Completed with an event shirt, finisher medal and root beer floats, you won't want to miss your chance to get those endorphins pumping and enjoy a little healthy competition between you and your father/father figure. Bring the whole family down to participate or cheer you on from the sidelines! Save by registering early for the event here.

 

Directions: Catch an Uber/Lyft to Woodward Park! Upon arriving to Woodward Park, you will head to the event space located at Mountainview Shelter located at 7775 N Friant Rd. 

 

Fort Washington Farmers Market

Nothing says summer like a good ole fashioned farmers market. Celebrate your father figures by heading over to North Fort Washington Road for the Fort Washington Father's Day Farmers Market! Get inspired by the fresh produce and continue the celebration at home by crafting a family dinner for Dad with the fresh, local goods you found at the farmers market. Or, if you were brave enough to participate in the 10k at Woodward park beforehand, have yourself a cool-down lap over to the market and recharge with crisp, fresh fruits and vegetables-enjoying the local merchants and businesses while doing so. 

 

Directions: An Uber or Lyft ride is just 15 minutes to the Farmer's Market!

Yosemite National Park Father's Day Escapade

Yosemite National Park 

Take a day trip with Amtrak for Father's Day and enjoy a scenic train trip, hassle free. Bring playing cards on the train and enlist the family in some much needed quality time-device free. After a seamless transfer from train to shuttle, enter into a magical day of serenity, togetherness and crisp, mountain air. Amtrak brings the ease to celebrations, when you purchase Amtrak tickets to Yosemite, the shuttle ride directly to the entry gates and admission to the park are included. Make it a whole thing and pack a backpack cooler with snacks and drinks, and have yourselves a makeshift picnic. Be mindful to bring a bag for trash so it doesn't end up being whisked away into the forest, keep Yosemite beautiful and enjoy a perfect Father's Day picnic nestled in the great outdoors. 

 

Directions: Take the San Joaquins to the Merced, CA Station (MCD). Once you arrive at the station, you'll transfer to Amtrak Thruway Bus (Route 15), which takes you directly to Yosemite Valley. This bus route is serviced by the Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS), which operates both shuttle vans and luxury motorcoaches. Best of all - when purchasing Amtrak tickets to Yosemite, the (shuttle) bus ride and admission to the park are included.

What could be better than taking a ride in automobile history! With the purchase of museum admission, you'll be able to answer that question for yourself. The California Automobile Museum offers a piece of automobile history and shows the influence motorized vehicles have had on our lives. Tickets for the California Automobile Museum start at $5 for kids ages six to seventeen. Tickets for Military and students start at $9, while general admission starts at $10.

 

Directions: Once Amtrak Riders arrive at the Sacramento Valley Station, they can take a quick 6-minute Lyft or Uber to the California Automobile Museum. If you prefer to walk, the museum is located 1.3 miles from the Sacramento Valley Station. Turn left toward 2nd Street, turn right onto L Street, turn left toward Neasham Circle, turn left onto Neasham Circle, turn left onto Front Street, and turn right onto V Street, the museum will be on your left.

After a 2 year hiatus because of the pandemic, J. Dennis Fitness is excited to host the 5th Annual Black Father's Day Walk. Jamaal Dennis is a personal trainer and gym owner, and he loves to incorporate health and wellness in everything he does. Thus, the walk around Lake Merritt. Participants will do 1 single lap around the Lake with their kids, so if you have toddlers or babies, bring those strollers, wagons and carriers. If your kids are old enough to walk with you, let's get out and have a great time celebrating Black fathers. Everyone is welcome!

 

Directions: From Amtrak San Joaquins Oakland Station, you can either walk or bus to the location. If you would like to walk 40 minutes, begin by going right on 2nd St., then go left on Madison St. Continue on Madison St. for a mile, then turn left on Lakeside Dr. Walk along Lake Merritt until going right on Grand Ave. You'll then go right on Bellevue Ave. and walk until you go left again on Lake Merritt on Lake Merritt Path. You will then reach the meeting point at 568 Bellevue Ave. To bus from the Oakland Station, take the AC Transit 12 bus from Alice St. and 2nd St. to Grand Ave. and Perkins St., then continue walking down Perkins St., turn right on Bellevue Ave., then you will reach the meeting point.
