Turning advocacy into action, Chavez co-founded the National Farm Workers Association along with Dolores Huerta in 1962, achieving landmark victories throughout the 1960s and ’70s. Cesar E. Chavez Celebration

Celebrate the 28th Annual Cesar E. Chavez Commemorative Celebration with the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. Each year, the Board of Supervisors honors a group of students as part of the Youth Hall of Fame Award. These students stand out for their volunteer work, leadership, and civic engagement. County residents are welcomed to nominate Contra Costa County students for the award. This event is completely free to attend, for more information regarding the 28th annual celebration, check out the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors website.
Directions: From Amtrak’s Martinez station, take a quick 6 minute walk to the event by walking toward Marina Vista Ave, turning left on Marina Vista Ave, and continuing for three blocks until you reach the Contra Costa Administrative Building.

Come out to volunteer at the Cesar Chavez Day of Service at DeFremery Park!
