OAKLAND
Explore Oakland's Lake Merritt
Oakland’s Lake Merritt is a beautiful destination, popular with locals and visitors alike. With the weather warming up, it’s the perfect time to take a stroll around the lake and enjoy the scenery. You can even rent a pedal boat or kayak to take out on the water! Surrounding Lake Merritt are plenty of great cafes and restaurants to enjoy a meal or drink with the view. Also nearby is the Oakland Museum of California which offers excellent year-round art and natural history exhibits.
Getting there: Take Amtrak San Joaquins to the Jack London Square Station. From there, it is about a 20-minute walk, 7-minute bike ride, or 6-minute rideshare to the lakeshore.

MARTINEZ

Enjoy The Martinez Shoreline
Spring is a wonderful time to visit Martinez and explore its beautiful shoreline. Just a short walk from the Martinez Station is the Radke Martinez Regional Shoreline, a park with nearly three miles of trails that offer peaceful walks through the marsh and along the shoreline. Catch sights of ships flowing through the Carquinez Strait, along with wildlife like the snowy egret and great blue heron. After taking a stroll through the marsh or shoreline, head over to historic downtown Martinez for great food and drink options.
Getting there: From the Martinez Station, walk 12 minutes north along N. Court Street to reach the main entrance to the Radke Martinez Regional Shoreline.
FRESNO
Downtown Fresno's ArtHop
Do you appreciate art, music, and food? Then look no further – the first Thursday of every month in Downtown Fresno hosts the perfect event for you, ArtHop. April’s ArtHop happens to take place during spring break, so grab your family and friends and walk up and down Fulton Street where you can explore historic buildings, gaze at artwork by dozens of artists, and enjoy music, food and beer (for those 21 and up)!
Getting there: From the Fresno Station, make a left on Tulare St and turn right onto Fulton St, where you won't miss the lively atmosphere!


Fresno Grizzlies
It’s spring which means baseball is back! Head over to Chukchanski Park and catch the Fresno Grizzlies kick off their season. You can view their schedule here and decide which game you’ll be attending. Whether you are traveling solo or with friends and family, a ball game and hot dogs are always a great time!
Getting there: From the Fresno Station get a 4-minute Uber or Lyft, or take a 17-minute walk by taking a left on Tulare St, a left on Fulton St and the park is on your right!
