Grab your fork, bring your appetite, purchase your train ticket and head on up to Sacramento’s Farm-to-Fork festival on September 27th and 28th (see the time table below) The two-day free street festival will bring a powerful musical line up to accompany the regional celebration that features, farmers, cooking demonstrations, a bounty of fresh food, and the best wine and craft beers from across California. The festival begins Friday evening at 4:00 p.m. with performances from a Sacramento band me&you, followed by Barns Courtney, The Attractions of Youth, and ZZ Ward. Saturday’s street festival features over a mile of vendors, four stages for performances throughout the day, and plentiful eats and drinks available all day. The festival begins at 11:00 am and the fun continues until 6:00 pm.

The Farm-to-Fork festival takes place on Capitol Mall, conveniently 4-blocks from the Sacramento Valley train station. Train riders can bring their bikes on the train and enjoy  free bike valet at the event. Feel free to also walk, or hop on a JUMP bike to get to the festival. More than 80,000 people from around the region visit the event, don’t put yourself in a pickle with parking, lettuce get you there!

The festival is for all ages to enjoy, celebrate, and to shine a light on the region’s amazing food and agriculture that is shared with the rest of the country and the world. The Sacramento region is declared America’s Fark-to-Fork Capital and the festival is a celebration of what makes us unique. The Sacramento region sits on 1.5 million acres of farms and ranches that grow more than 160 crops that are sold locally, nationally, and around the world. California is the nation’s sole exporter of many agricultural commodities, supplying 99% or more of: almonds, artichokes, dates, figs, garlic, olive oil, table grapes, walnuts, pistachios, raisins, olives and olive oil, prunes, and kiwifruit. Amtrak San Joaquins travels through the heart of California’s vast agricultural land and allows passengers to sightsee the state’s agricultural land from the comfort of their seats.
