Celebrations Like These Only Come Along Every 100 Years!

A promo for the Corcoran Christmas tree celebration

During the holiday season, most families have traditions they hold dear. For many, that means driving down their local Christmas Tree Lane and looking in wonder at all the beautiful lights. For others, it means heating up a nice batch of hot cocoa and watching their favorite holiday movie in front of a fire. But no matter what your holiday traditions, we’re willing to bet that new and interesting holiday activities are always welcome.

That’s where Corcoran comes in. This year, as the city celebrates the 100th anniversary of its Christmas Tree Celebration, the city is going above and beyond to create a magical “Winter Wonderland” that families won’t soon forget.

On December 6th, 7th, and 8th, Corcoran’s Christmas Tree Park, just steps from the Amtrak station, will be a spectacular place to experience the holidays both during the day and at night. Festivities will include an ice-skating rink, snow sledding hill, and two actual living reindeer with a sleigh. Children will have a blast – decorating cookies, making holiday crafts, writing letters to Santa, and visiting with Mrs. Claus and Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

There will be plenty of opportunities for families to take photos for their Christmas cards, as there will be several photo-opp stations. There will also be a vintage red truck in a wintery scene and a live nativity scene, complete with a camel, lambs, goats, calves, and chickens. Vintage carriage rides downtown will also give festivity-goers a chance to enjoy the new lighting and holiday decorations.

To get to this amazing holiday celebration you won’t see anywhere else, just hop on Amtrak San Joaquins at your nearest station. The train will arrive at the Corcoran station, a quick four-minute walk from Christmas Tree Park. See the table below for train arrival and departure times. It’s always best to purchase your seats at least two days in advance.
