Celebrate Pride Month this June with an exciting journey through the San Joaquins corridor and beyond! Cities along our route will be hosting various unique and vibrant pride events. Below we're showcasing the fun activities and local businesses that have made a lasting impact on the LGBTQ+ communities throughout California. If you're eager to explore these remarkable events and venues, look no further than the Amtrak San Joaquins train and Thruway Bus routes. 


LA Pride in the Park

Los Angeles State Historic Park | 1245 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012 | June 9-10, 2023

The largest Pride music event in the country, LA Pride in the Park, will expand this year to a two-day extravaganza, taking place at Los Angeles State Historic Park on Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10. Global superstars and GRAMMY Award-winning queens Megan Thee Stallion and Mariah Carey are headlining Friday and Saturday, respectively. The festival will also feature an array of local vendors and LGBTQ+ exhibitors, an ample sober space, sponsor giveaways, and the new Trans Galleria, highlighting the art and creativity of the LA trans community.

Single-day and weekend passes are now on sale at the LA Pride website. VIP tickets include expedited entry, front-of-stage viewing area, VIP lounge, private bars and restrooms, and elevated food offerings.

Directions: From Union Station in Downtown LA, walk less than a mile heading north on Spring St. to the park.

Pride Month Artisan Market at The Bloc

700 S. Flower St, Los Angeles, CA 90017 | Every Saturday in June 2023 

Located at The Bloc in Downtown LA, the DTLA Proud A+R=T Community Center focuses on "Accessibility and Representation to help our community Thrive!" The Center features an art gallery, queer marketplace, community room and co-working space; and offers all-ages programming, workshops, pop-up retail space and event venue opportunities. To celebrate Pride Month, DTLA Proud and The Bloc present an Artisan Market every Saturday in June to support LGBTQ+ small business owners. Shop local handmade items from jewelry to pottery, art and more: June 3, June 10, June 17 and June 24. Learn more about the market here.

Directions: From Union Station in Downtown LA, take the Metro D Line (Purple) to 7th St. and Metro Center. When you disembark, The Bloc will be across the street on your right.

San Francisco LGBTQ+ Pride 2023

Market Street from Embarcadero to the Celebration at Civic Center, San Francisco, CA, 94102 | June 24th - June 25th

San Francisco Pride, held annually in June, is a vibrant and inclusive celebration of LGBTQ+ culture and rights. Festivities begin on Saturday, June 24, and the Pride Parade will be on June 25th, going down Market Street from Embarcadero to the Celebration at Civic Center. The event showcases a colorful parade that winds through the city streets, with extravagant floats, lively music, and participants adorned in vibrant costumes. There will also be live performances, drag shows, dance parties, and educational workshops that promote diversity, equality, and acceptance. 

Directions: Amtrak San Joaquins riders arriving at the Emeryville Station can take the Amtrak Thruway Bus to San Francisco Transbay Terminal, walk five minutes to the Montgomery BART Station, and take the Red or Yellow BART line to Civic Center. Amtrak San Joaquins riders arriving at Jack London Square may take a short walk to Lake Merritt BART Station and follow the Blue or Green BART lines to Civic Center. 


Oakland Black Pride Festival 2023

2150 Livingston St., Oakland, CA 94606   |  June 28 - July 2

Celebrate Black Pride in Oakland at Oakland’s Black Pride Festival from Wednesday, June 28, to Sunday, July 2. The festival begins on the evening of Wednesday, June 28th, with Breaking Bread: A Benefit Dinner featuring food prepared by Chef Preeti Mistry from Top Chef season six, located at Forage Kitchen in Oakland. All proceeds from this dinner will benefit Oakland Black Pride, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering LGBTQ+ communities. The third annual Oakland Black Pride Festival is on Saturday, July 1st, from 12:00 to 6:00 pm. This Queer Expo will feature over 50 vendors, including BIPOC makers, crafters, artists, entrepreneurs, food vendors, non-profit partners, DJs, local performers, and more.

Directions: Amtrak San Joaquins riders arriving at the Oakland Jack London Station can take a 9-minute Uber to Forage Kitchen for Wednesday festivities and a 13-minute Uber to 2150 Livingston Street for the Saturday Black Pride Festival.


SacPride 2023

Capitol Mall, 721 Capitol Mall, Sacramento, CA | Saturday, June 10 - Sunday, June 11, 2023 | 12:00 PM PDT - 9:00 PM PDT and 11:00 AM PDT - 2:00 PM PDT 

Experience the excitement of SacPride 2023, the largest Pride celebration in Northern California! Join the Sacramento LGBTQ+ Community for a weekend filled with art, culture, and unforgettable performances by Rebecca Black, Bronze Avery, Siena Liggins, and more. The vibrant Sacramento Pride Parade will begin at 11 am on Sunday, June 11, and feature magnificent floats. Single-day general admission tickets are available starting at $10 for kids (13-17) and $15 for adults, while weekend passes start at $18 for kids and $25 for adults. Sacramento’s Lavender Heights

Located in Midtown Sacramento off K Street and 20th Street

This establishment was founded to foster community and unity among diverse individuals by supporting our local businesses, aiming to bring people from all walks of life together.

1st Annual Lodi Pride Festival

Celebrate Lodi Pride at the 1st Annual Pride Festival at Highwater Brewing Company in Lodi. Enjoy a day filled with joy, acceptance, great brews, and food. Celebrate the rich tapestry of LGBTQ+ culture and celebrate with the Lodi community. Admission is free, allowing everyone to participate and show their support for equality and unity. Take advantage of this remarkable occasion to celebrate love, diversity, and acceptance.

Modesto's Trans Support Circle

The Queen Bean Coffee House, 1126 14th St, Modesto, CA 95354 | Every Saturday from 1:00 PM PDT - 2:30 PM PDT

Have a coffee and make new friends at the Central Valley Pride Center’s Trans Support Circle. This weekly meeting is open to those identifying as transgender, nonbinary, 2-spirit, genderqueer, a-gender, or gender non-conforming. The group also welcomes cis friends and partners, so attendees can feel more comfortable attending. Visit their website to learn about more events hosted by the Central Valley Pride Center.

CVP Presents: Dragalicious at Joystiq

Leave the station heading southeast towards W 24th Street, then turn left on W 24th Street. Turn right onto Martin Luther King Jr Way, then right onto W Main Street. Joystiq will be on the right.



Tower Pride 365 Pub Crawl

Celebrate Pride Month with a pub crawl through Fresno’s historic gayborhood! All participating locations will be decorated to show their pride and support for the LGBTQ+ community. Don your best Pride gear and come out, come out wherever you are to this night that celebrates the diversity of our local queer community! Enjoy prioritized service at participating venues, no cover charges during the event, VIP express entry at some venues, as well as special pride themed drinks! Directions: From the Fresno Amtrak Station, take the FAX bus from Tulare and Q St. to Olive and Echo and walk to any of the venues on Olive Ave. Or, take a quick car 7-minute ride using the ridesharing service of your choosing.

Fairytale Summer Nights
